Connecting to a database

There are many ways to connect to an OpenEdge database. For a detailed discussion on connecting to a database, see OpenEdge Data Management: Database Administration .

To connect to a database using the Data Dictionary:

Choose Database Connect. The Database Connect dialog box appears:



Specify the database name and any necessary database information, then choose OK. See the "Connect option" section for a complete description of the database attributes you can specify in the Database Connect dialog box.
Note: You must select the Multiple Users toggle-box if you are running a multi-server and trying to connect to a self-service client.
